Welcome to the iCademy
Challenge!
Time to get up out of those seats and make a difference in your community.
The iCademy Program offers a unique project-based learning experience
for Arizona students and teachers. The
goal of the program is to encourage diverse groups of students to enter
into a statewide multimedia dialogue about how they can improve Arizona. Working in teams of two to five, students
in third grade through high school have the opportunity to make a difference while learning critical 21st Century skills.
Winning teams receive prizes and an invitation to participate in
the Microcomputers in Education Conference, held in March 20011 at
Arizona State University
Sustaining Arizona
There is no question that the citizens of Arizona are facing difficult times. Environmentally, Socially, Economically, and Culturally how do we build on what is good and change what is not. For the 2010-11 iCademy project we challenge you to identify an issue in your community, become and expert, implement a solution and document your success in a 3 - 5 minute movie.
The Sustaining Arizona Challenge follows the Challenge Based Learning process created by Apple, inc. Starting with the Big IDEAL of Sustaining Arizona look around your community and identify a sustainability challenge and you are off and running. Visit the Challenge Based Learning site for an overview of the process and examples of what schools in other states have accomplished. |
